Normally ‘Photo of the Day’ features brand new art, but we wanted to throw back to 2010 and Art Director Matt Sunday’s first published photo of Philadelphia Union soccer player Ray Gaddis.
Gaddis, who graduated from WVU last fall, earned his first minutes and first start for the Union last night in Philadelphia. The right back was informed just before kickoff about the start, and he took advantage by playing soundly and helping the Union on to a 1-0 victory, their first of the year.

Art Director Matt Sunday took his golden retriever for a walk while at home on Easter Sunday. Elmo played with a giant Easter egg for a bit in the yard, and decided to pose for the ‘Photo of the Day.’

Photographer Patrick Gorrell took this photo of University Ave. from above Ming Hsieh Hall on West Virginia University’s downtown campus.
Without a tripod, Gorrell found a spot to brace his camera for a 3 second handheld photo. He took the picture with 1000 ISO and an f/11 aperture.
